The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert - Belgian Blue Stone

- 1847 -

The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are one of the oldest shopping arcades in Europe. Inaugurated in 1847, they house homes, shops, cultural venues and a place to stroll in the heart of Brussels. Built in the Florentine Renaissance style, the arcades boast a magnificent glass roof. And on the ground, authentic Belgian Blue Stone flooring.

- 6 million/year -

Solid and compact, Belgian Blue Stone from our quarry adorns the covered arcade. With nearly 6 million visitors per year, we can honestly claim to have paved the way for quite a few pairs of feet! Over the years, and unlike imitations, the stones have taken on a beautiful patina. The paving has aged graciously, as has the place, which has become one of Brussels’s main visitor attractions.

Belgian Blue Stone stands the test of time and use

On your next visit to Brussels, take a stroll through these breathtaking arcades and don’t forget to raise your eyes to admire the glass roof but also… to look down at what’s going on under your feet 😉
